Denise Lemons Lujan
Director of Developmental Math at the University of Texas at El Paso.
President Elect of the National Association for Developmental Education, and a graduate of the Advanced Kellogg Institute for Developmental Education, Denise is a gifted speaker and leading advocate for advancing the art of educating under-prepared adults, incorporating legislative direction in public education, and motivating students and professors alike to lead the change necessary for advancing students’ success in higher education.

Dr. Emily K. Suh
Dr. Emily K. Suh is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Program in Developmental Education within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. She completed her Ph.D. in Education Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her M.A. in English as a Second Language from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Dr. Suh has presented regionally, nationally, ad internationally on research and practice related to adult learners, immigrant education, culturally and linguistically diverse students’ transition to postsecondary education, and second/additional language acquisition. Her work has appeared in places such as the International Journal of Multilingualism, the Journal of Developmental Education, the Journal of College Academic Support Programs, the Basic Writing e-Journal, and Teaching English in the Two-Year College. She is the current president of the Indiana Association of Developmental Education and co-chair of the National Association for Developmental Education’s Cultural Diversity Committee.
